The cottage on « The woody end »

This holiday house on "the woody end", is built on a slope, which is accessed at the end of a small no-through road that climbs into the woods.

Just recently, the cottage, an old chalet from the 60s, has been completely renovated both inside and outside to make a warm and peaceful atmosphere. The cottage is equipped with all the modern conveniences but still retains the wonderful ambience of an old wooden chalet integrated seamlessly into the beautiful region of the Ardennes.

Over the seasons, the cottage offers a superb view of the village of Herbeumont, its castle and meadows and also overlooks the Semois valley, the surrounding villages and the forest.

Its terraces and rear garden form a true viewpoint over the horizon of massive hilly forests.

The name of the cottage is from the novel of Tolkien, the Lord of the Rings, in particular  “The woody end” area, not far from the Shire, that is translated in the French version by “le bout des bois”
